Bob Pickett reviews the Bering Corpus Trousers

Nice kit - shame about the legs Made from the same fibretech material as the Bering Portland Jacket, the Corpus Trousers feature removeable knee protectors, built-in body belt, waterproof outer pocket, velcro adjustment with press studs at the ankles and once again, removeable thermo-quilted aluminium lining which zips in.

The trousers were comfortable from the word go. They feature a high back panel, covering the base of your spine and ensuring your back stays warm.

Again, the thermal lining works a treat and the waterproofing has kept off everything thrown at it. The Scotchite 3M strips also throw up oodles of light to the following traffic.

One minor niggle is that there is only one press stud and a velcro strip securing the waist, giving no margin for adjustment. They also only come in one leg length. Fine if it is the right length for you, but if you are short in the leg (like me), it means they ruck up a touch - not enough to be a problem, but a range of lengths would ensure a better fit.

Verdict

Very well designed and effective kit, with only a couple of minor niggles.
