Caberg V2 helmet – ‘MD’ needed good vision, at a budget price. Did the V2 deliver? Read on

Caberg V2 - with outer visor removed to give a better idea of how the inner one works I decided to go for the Caberg V2 as I needed a helmet that would be good for riding in both bright and darker conditions. I also needed to look at the budget end of the scale.

I am really pleased with it. It looks better in the flesh than in pictures. Fits well and is much lighter than any other budget helmet I've owned. I have also been told by other V2 owners that it is a good fit for bikers who wear glasses.

The quality of this Caberg is impressive; paint looks top notch, fully removable inner linings. Good seals around the visor opening keeps it quiet at lower speeds, but there is wind noise from the neck area that makes it noisy once you up the pace.

Both the inner dark and outer clear visor are easy to remove, especially the the outer has a clever one push lever. You can leave the dark visor at any level to suit the angle of sunstrike as well. The anti-mist feature on both visors also seems to work well.

Verdict: For the money it is a great helmet and the internal visor is a real plus point (Note: The V2 may not be available, but the V2R also comes in at the budget end and is similar to the original V2 with some small improvements)
