Bob Pickett does a spot of motorcycle theory

Awful cover, useful contents So you have decided to learn to ride a bike. Top choice! But before you are allowed out on the road, you need to pass the Theory Test.

With a little homework this should not be a problem and this is where the Theory Test for Motorcyclists CD-ROM comes in. This does exactly what it says on the label. You run through the questions, learning the correct answers and perhaps more importantly, WHY they are the right ones.

When ready, you take a mock test. The programme creates a test including all the relevant components, restricted to the maximum time allowed to answer the questions. It then shows whether you've passed, breaks down the test into the various sections and shows how well you did on each one and you can then go back through the questions and see where you went wrong.

I took the test a number of times - glad to say I passed each one!

The Theory Test now encompasses an observation skills section. This CD does not run mock questions in the same way, but does show an example of the type and style of question that comes up in the new section. If studied in conjunction with the 'What If' Video then you should be well prepared for both parts of the test.

Verdict:

If you haven't taken your theory test yet, this is an excellent way of preparing for it. And even if you've been on the road for years, it is a good way of refreshing your knowledge.
